When they say:
“Love your body”
At any size
You don’t have to like what you see
You don’t have to force preference
Into necessity
And squeeze delight
Like forcing a jeans sized too small
You don’t need to love me superficially
A body is a body
I don’t care what I look like at all
But love me
When I don’t meet your standards
Feed me
When I am lumpy and pale
Soothe me
When I grow lines, and greys
Cherish me
Let me sleep, let me drink deep
Show me sunsets and serene seas
Sweeping willows and petalled bowers
Drench me out in summer showers
Move me
Move me
Let me dream without sleeping
Plan my days without scheming
Don’t use me
Don’t abuse me
Love me
